2 Corinthians 13: 5 “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”
In today’s age of high tech we have information abundantly at our fingertips. In a matter of minutes we can even have the computer through our new AI to write papers that we don’t have to study for. I just hope some of the doctors graduating today have paid their true dues so as not to rely on AI for a major diagnosis! Yes, we sure have come a long way.
The Bible teaches us that this day would arrive. Daniel 12:4 “But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.” Think of it, we can have breakfast in our own hometown and supper most anywhere in the world tonight!
This increase of knowledge does not denote intelligence though. As we have noted recently, the information age is upon us however that does not mean it is valid information! So many twists and schemes that it will make your head spin! Unfortunately, it is the same with things of the Spirit. The Bible teaches us to ‘test the spirits to see if they are from God’ but that isn’t the norm. We wholeheartedly accept anything that gives us a good feeling or Goosebumps!
Please get yourself an old fashioned Bible and read it and then use it as a reference book to keep you in line with God’s word. 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” Get the word and become a student of the word! This will give you information about the information we get today. A deeper sense of what is occurring in today’s world. Although the information we receive in this world is questionable, we can and do have assurance in God’s word concerning the major events in God’s holy timeline. The safest way to know God is through His infallible word of truth. Dive deeply between its pages and you will never regret doing so! Examine yourself by and through it. Are you in the faith?
