We have enough

John 20:30-31 “There are also many other signs (attesting miracles) that Jesus performed in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; but these have been written so that you may believe [with a deep, abiding trust] that Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed), the Son of God; and that by believing [and trusting in and relying on Him] you may have life in His name.”

How simple did Jesus make salvation? He did it all and we only need to believe on Him and His word. Religion came and made it a difficult thing to be ‘saved’ when the entire time the debt had been paid in full. An old song written and sang by the gospel great Squire Parsons states that “He came to me…when I couldn’t get to where He was…He came to me!” How true.

Sometimes we toil believing that in our hardship we can find holiness and forgiveness but that is far from the truth isn’t it!? Penance isn’t found in the scriptures repentance is and the difference between them is huge.

Why then is it so hard to accept that Jesus could possibly be so good? Is it a need to be punished for how we have lived our lives? When we are contrite, Jesus longs to provide His grace in abundance! He holds nothing to our charge because, in Him, there is nothing to charge us with! His payment is complete, secure, and binding.

The adversary wants us to be down trodden, heart sick and forlorn over our former lives. But His mercy and grace are sufficient for us! We accept His forgiveness and begin a new life in Christ. The Bible says in II Corinthians 5: 17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].

We have enough! We have enough miracles to believe He can provide a miracle to our selves or to a loved one; we have enough Bible text to overcome any lie of the enemy! And we surely have enough promise and Covenant to see Jesus in heaven one day too. We get to go to heaven because Jesus Christ is good – not because we have earned it but that is what grace is about isn’t it?
