Proverbs 4:7 “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”
We recognized Pentecost Sunday recently and gave honor to the precious third Person of the holy Trinity or Tri-Unity of God. To remember that God spoke and the Spirit moved, created and empowered! How wonderful He is! He always brings glory to the Son Who, in turn, always brings glory to the Father. Somehow, somewhere along the way we have made a denomination out of Him.
Jesus taught us in Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” He sent His Holy Spirit to empower us to become bold effective witnesses and to love. Learning from Him seems to be the hardest thing to do! Not because His ways are difficult, but His ways must be discovered through an intimate relationship with and in-depth study of Jesus.
We have been fed a theology of ignorance and apathy by which we live the lives we choose instead of the one He ordained for us to live! A life of self rather than a life that belongs to Him. Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ [that is, in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body I live by faith [by adhering to, relying on, and completely trusting] in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” We do not belong to us any longer; we belong to God and the exchange has taken place…His life for ours!
Don’t be a part of the crowd that is involved with ignorance and apathy – the I don’t know and I don’t care crowd. Study to show yourself approved and committed to Him! How much more should we seek Him when we have been forgiven of much! Be faithful to Him for you are the Bride of Christ! The Holy Spirit brings to remembrance those things you have been taught and studied. He will help you in your journey. Learn of Him because the knowledge you gain today becomes the wisdom you live by tomorrow.
