1 Corinthians 9:24-27 “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win. Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things They then do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.”
Looking back over my life, I remember many things I wish I could change. I used to own a temper that was very intense, and many times got me into real trouble. There have been many fun times with big belly laughs that hurt when finished. I’ve experienced the pain of heartbreak and failure. One thing is constant throughout all my life. God has always been there! It’s been some journey so far!
We are all participants in a marathon run. Some are well equipped while others are not. The well equipped rely on what they have gathered for the long journey. Others, that are well equipped, don’t have the equipment they desire so they rely upon God to empower them through to the end. Many people are on an unforgiving treadmill going nowhere. Continuously giving it their all to remain in the same place; never learning the lesson of passage.
Be sure, on this race, to give it all you have in way manner that will provide you and those in your world the best of love especially the love of Jesus Christ. To run the race then not able to cross the finish line would be a tragedy and victory to our adversary. Allow Jesus to guide you in your long journey that you may keep your heart and your stamina may increase. I know that sometimes you feel like giving up and throwing in the towel. But don’t! Turn your life over to the care of the Master and He will sustain you through the toughest this life can give. You will still go through hard times but, it is much easier with Christ!
No amount of philosophy can take the place of the blessing of God through Jesus. Your philosophy will tarnish and lead you astray. Your imaginations are vain and dark in the end. Only Christ can offer you the fullness of this life and life eternal with Him in heaven. He went to prepare a place for you and me, a place of rest, peace and harmony without rival. Do you believe Jesus took that beating and died for you? If you do you have a wonderful helper that daily walks beside you and you can be sure you will finish strong with His guidance.
Trust Jesus and enjoy the run…enjoy the journey!
