A Purposed Life

Matthew 4:19-20 “And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. 20 And they straightway left [their] nets, and followed him.”

Jesus taught His disciples to catch men and women instead of fish.  His catch was the call to the kingdom of God.  His meat was and is to do the will of His Father.  His action was to do all that His Father did.

How much clearer could this possibly be?  The kingdom of God is not ‘over here or over there’.  It is within us…the called out ones…the ecclesia…the church.  Too often we get sidetracked and then confused by popular teaching and preaching of the day.  We loose sight of the call and flounder by the wayside until someone (today that would be me) takes you by the hand and brings back to ‘your’ remembrance what purposed steps are!

We’ve been caught up by motivators, hirelings, and tricksters proclaiming that to gain is godliness.  What the kingdom is and how to attain the power thereof is the sin of Simon the sorcerer in the book of Acts.  The power of God is given to enable us to become effective witnesses – boldly proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.  As I taught last week, finances are simply a tool designed to propagate this good-news!

How can I have a purposed life, you may ask?

Step 1:  Follow Jesus the Christ.

Step 2:  Do what He did…love so much that you would risk everything to see one more saved from an eternal hell.

Step 3:  see steps 1 & 2!

Keep this in mind as well; you can do it!  Jesus sent back a teacher, comforter, a friend empowered to walk with you and gently lead you through your years.  Be not deceived, God is not mocked whatsoever you sow you will reap!  Reap life everlasting through Christ!
