Exodus 14: 14 “The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.”
We Christians (those that are blood-bought, surrendered, and redeemed by Jesus death, burial, and resurrection) have been given gifts of the highest quality and value. When Jesus took the sin burden off of our shoulders and paid the debt in full He gave us a “peace that passes understanding” and a “joy that is unspeakable and full of (His) glory”! But just like the snake that he is, our enemy is looking for any means to steal our peace and joy! No, he cannot take it we must give it. Just like in the garden!
He sends people to needle and pick at our peace trying to get us to give it up. Too often he is able. Isn’t it time that we stand? We need to understand that he cannot get in unless we allow him in. Why don’t we just say NO to him?! We can by the power of the Holy Ghost! God the Holy Spirit was given to us that we might have power to withstand the wiles of the adversary. Our Lord didn’t leave us as orphans He sent the third Person of the Trinity or Tri-Unity of God to bring to remembrance all that we have read and are taught; reminding us of His victory over that foul devil!
Nothing is as valuable as this great salvation, peace, joy, and intimacy we have in and through Christ. This peace is not the absence of conflict but a sense of well-being and reconciliation with God. I have truly come to enjoy this place of peaceful relationship through any of life’s circumstances. It cannot be purchased, learned, or developed without the Lord’s Presence and forgiveness in our life.
Events that come upon this world through evil individuals do so to replace our peace with fear. You see it on your nightly news, online, and printed. We are bombarded with news of death, destruction, and chaos to transplant that which the devil can never possess…peace! Hold on to the wonderful gifts of the Lord and trust Him. This is how you keep your peace and witness the Lord fighting for you!
Hebrews 10:31 “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” When you read this proclamation, understanding will come as to why Jesus interceded for those that nailed Him to the cross! We should pray for those that would come against us that the Lord would give them another opportunity to surrender to Him!
